TiDust LionSteel.
First knife in the world to be made with the DMLS technology: Direct Metal Laser Sintering, it is an Additive Manufacturing technology. Starting from the powder of titanium, through with the technique of selective fusion, we build the Solid handle of the knife. The main advantage lies in the fact that you are able to get products using high-performance materials but dramatically reducing the weight. The blade is made of Sleipner steel, Uddeholm Sweden, and has a hardness of 61 HRC.
This knife has a IKBS system to facilitate the sliding of the blade. This system is based on two bearings positioned on both sides of the blade that improve the fluidity. The clip is made of hardened steel and is reversible. Two cylindrical springs guarantee perfect strength in mechanics. It is sold with a stylish leather case.

Overall length: 205 mm. - 8.07 in.
Blade length: 90 mm. - 3.54 in.
Blade thickness: 4.5 mm. - 0.18 in.

Wow.

I wish they had gone further out of the envelope with the design though. My favorite 3d prints are when they make objects that can't conceivably have been machined conventionally due to overlapping layers and such.

Ouch on the price, but the process is so expensive. This is the future.

I am working to reduce the price, DMLS it is a very new technology, it has a lot of improvement in a short time.
I do hope to have good news in a couples of weeks.

Of course for all the ones that they have already reserved the knife I will change the price with the new one.

Less knife for more money. Plus all the holes for stuff to get into. I just don't see it.

I am happy to inform all of you that at the end I was able to reduce the price of the TiDust.
The new machine has more power and more working space, in this way we can make more Ti handles in a shorter time.

The final price now is 1300 Euro.

Of course this new price is valid also for the old orders

Straight out of the Aerospace industry! Collectors item only? Not for lending to your mate LOL. Nice funky design using DMLS. A modern gentleman's knife (dare I offend anyone). Yes I would be cleaning it all the time and you have the corrosion resistance of Ti Vs the weak corrosion resistance of Sleipner. Paired with an ELMAX blade this would be an even better combination. DMLS can do intricate parts that are very strong/rigid. But at the cost I'd be keeping it in my hands at all times or locked in a display cabinet. Still a a funky sleek design and shows what can be done.:)
