Tie Chee

Judging from you link bro I'd say Tah Chee is the dude sporting the bowie. I'd have to say the bowie yer lookin at is a standard coffin handled affair. For a good lineup of the coffin handles go check out Ontario's line of Bagwell bowies.

And I'd say it's a pretty safe bet to assume one of our experts will be along shortly to give you a little more history and likely some more detail.

The main difference I noticed after looking at the Ontario Bagwells (thanks Chambers) is the lack of a double hilt on the Tah Chee bowies, at least on the one old Chief Tah Chee is packin. So, I conclude, Tah Chee style is coffin handle, no hilt.

Sorry to sway from the topic, but when I saw the thread title I was like "That's gotta be the worst spelling of taiji (tai chi) I've ever seen!" :D :footinmou :D

Right. Who would have thought that a Cherokee indian chief would be named a Chinese internal martial art.:)

Here's mine from PJ. that's a lot better picture of Tah Chee then I found.

That's a very similar style to the ones James Black is pictured with in the only known photo depicting him, another gentleman and 2 of his knives. I'm going to have to make one of those someday!
