Tiger striping the ZT0300 all black blade

Either strip the coating off the blade and duracoat your own tiger striping onto it (in any color) or mask it with painter's tape and blast the coating in a tiger stripe pattern.

Odds are you could probably duracoat on top of the black coating if you don't want to bother stripping it.

I picked the ZT0300 because it didn't have the stripes. But to each there own. Duracoat, as has been mention already, would probably do well.

If you end up modifying and not trading it, the easiest way would definately be to tape off the parts of the blade that you want to stay black and then bead blast the whole blade. The glass bead will dull your edge to butter knife status so you'll have to sharpen the edge after your done but if thats what you want to do it will be well worth it. If you want to blend the contrasting edges together you can use a scoth brite pad and lighly polish where they meet. Good luck.

I was just curious, thanks for all the info, I really diggin this, i didn't know that knives could be just as cool as my guns

Sometimes even cooler! It all depends on where you live. In NY I can't carry a firearm, but I can have a knife in my pocket. If I lived in a place where I could carry a pistol on me legally then I'd probably be into guns way more than I am now.

Welcome to the addiction se7en30! Just wait until you start spending the same amount of coin on a custom knife that you would on a nice pistol.

Why would one do that?

Why does one do anything to a knife? Because we like to. Its a vast, diverse, individualized world out there, M.

Here's a very sweet ZT with(I was told) an all black blade swapped on that was then turned into tiger via taping and blasting. Note the stripes are sharp angled and not curvy like stock.

Looks like a homemade stripe job, but the ZT logo says otherwise, would be a pain even with liquid mask...

Love the Scales, Beautiful....
