I have been hearing good things about Tiger Thread and stumbled across a listing on eBay for it for $7.00 for 82' spools free shipping, and multiple color options. Thought I would share that with you folks

If I read your post correctly, that's about 9 cents PER FOOT! A bit steep for thread unless it happens to be gold plate and at least 14k gold at that.

I cannot remember what I pay, but that sounds very reasonable. Thanks!

Paul, if you hand sew it may as well be gold plated. Perfect amount of wax and damn near unbreakable, flat braided (lays down beautifully), just great stuff.

I've read some very positive reviews from Tiger thread users that have bought similar stuff out of Hong Kong. I'll still use Tiger because I just love it and like where it's made.

Anthony, I'm not bad mouthing Tiger thread. I just had no idea it was that expensive. When I was in the saddle shop we also used braided thread (round braid) in the Randalls and it was great for sewing the wools on the skirts etc. We bought it on about 2 or 3 pound spools and it was no where near 9 cents a foot and those spools had thousands of feet. I still have, I would guess, about 3 or 4 four hundred feet on a spool here in my shop, and on the very rare occasions that I hand stitch I use it.
