Hi, i looking for the big fixed blade. i think SOG Tigershark will be the answer.

but i have a few question.
if i can get Tigershark with plain blade, new from the box,i guess it old stock about 10 years, with nylon stealth.
or go for the new partially serrated with Kydex stealth.

this will be my first big knife. i will use it for all around function
camping, hiking,
go through the rain forest, some wood chop for open the way,
for rescue and my last survival gear.

i know for wood chop the best is machete but this is my first big knife.
so, what is your suggestion, Tigershark in plain blade or partially serrated???

Thanks in advance

That's a hard question..if I had the old Tigershark, I'd try not to use it. Maybe I'd get
both lol

I like the old old Tigersharks with unserrated carbon steel blade. If you can find one, buy it, I think you'll be quite happy.

Cheers,

Carl

Thanks guys for your suggestion.

the one plain edge is 440A not carbon steel blade.

what make me hard to answer are.:jerkit:
1. partially serrated can cut rope or seat belt more easy, faster ???
2. the old stock about 10 year with Kraton handle. is it have shelf live???

wait for yours advise

Thanks:)

PS. i have seen yours (New Pig Hunter) Tigershark picture.
is that midnitetiger. it is very very nice.

and just as an FYI....
for years SOG customers have been requesting a Tigershark without serrations and they have yet to listen.

I think 'they/from SOG' should make a SOG seal team without serrations too.
just like they already have with the seal pup elite.just plain edge.

I like knives the best without any kind of serrations/saw at all.
neither back or at the edge.

easier to sharpen.especially when 'you're out there'.and when cutting, most of the time you want a plain edge to do the work.
especially close to the handle where most of the cutting is done.

I have one in the exchange section for Production knives for sale by individuals. Some other old SOG knives are in there, also. Hopefully this reference does not violate the posting rules.

fatcat,

mine is not a true factory Midnight Tiger. I just decided one afternoon to add some gunblue and it ended up looking pretty good.

Cheers,

Carl
