Anyone know what's under the Kraton and how thick it is? Also, down by the lanyard hole, how solid is it? Could it be used as a field hammer(of course i know this would tear or rip the material and most likley not warrantyable). Just kinda interested in all the different ways i could use it if i had to.

Cheers,

The Tigershark is full tang so there is a 1/4" thick slab of steel under the kraton.:D I don't think I would use it as a heavy field hammer but you could probably drive in some tent spikes with it if you had to. The kraton would tend to get all chewed up, but the tigershark is meant to be used anyway. The tigershark was my first SOG and I think it is awesome. :)

Here are some good threads on the tigershark: Link 1, link 2

Don't get me wrong I love the knife, but with the 2 recent hurricanes and all it has got me thinking about my BOB and the tools i have in it.

Me too, I have a whole new outlook, I just make sure I have a Hunter Revolver or two handy in house and truck.

We have just recently started stocking some water and canned goods also.
Nothing huge, just catch a few things on sale and stock up. A good knife or two is a must IMO.......... :D

Robbie Roberson. ;)

Living in SoCal, our most probable distaster is going to be a large earthquake. House damage aside, i have a supply of coleman propane, water, bleach and candles and non perishable foods to last 4 or 5 days. Anything longer than that chances are I should be bugging out anyways.
