Introducing TigerSharp Technologies' new folder that uses their exclusive replaceable edge technology. The blade "holder" is 440C stainless, and it holds the edge part which is GIN-5 steel heat treated to a 61 Rc. Handles are machined aluminum and are available in several colors and there are alos G-10 and Zytel versions too. Liner lock®, pocket clip for tip down carry, dual thumb studs.

The steel insert can be replaced in the field for a sharp knife in seconds without sharpening. Each knife comes with two edges - plain and part serrated so it's like getting two knives for one. The edges can be swapped out when the situation demands it.

To replace, loosen the thumbstuds and pull them back. Gently press the cutting edge against the edge of a desk or table and the insert will pop out slightly, as illustrated here.

Then, carefully pull the edge insert out from the blade holder. To replace, reverse the steps shown here.

The partially serrated edge insert is also pictured here.

The folder joins TigerSharp's existing fixed blade, and there are new models of folders in the works for future releases.

Hey Dexter, why use 440C for the blade? If you're going to use a different steel for the edge, wouldn't it make sense to use a really cheap, tough stainless steel for the main blade section? I know 440C is pretty good stuff, so it seems like waste of good steel.

I already have a knife with easily replacable blades; a mat knife. I guess this thing will give Stanley a run for their money.
