I was wondering what people think about these knives. They look incredible, indeed, but how do they handle? I was specifically thinking about the 4" HD ones. They look a bit fragile, actually.. is this the case?

The custom versions? No experience with them but I have been on the lookout for one. I have a friend who loves his button lock Tighe.

Yeah, the custom version;

Well, I have handled a number and one specifically:

There's nothing "fragile" about them, solid Ti frame and secure lock-up. Blade does have a fine point, but that's by design. It's not a pry bar.

I have no experience with the Tighe Rade, but I have the custom Nirk Tighe and the F&F/quality is amazing. I plan to buy additional Brian Tighe knives as the Nirk Tighe seriously impressed me.

FWIW. :)

Well, I don't expect it to be a prybar or anything; I was just wondering if it's more of an "art knife" than a "user knife", if you know what I mean?

I can't speak to that. But I can speak to Brian's STBS bearing system. Rod Olson uses it in his Quick Flick folder and it's the smoothest bearing system I've ever encountered.

Perfectly ok as a user. Was at the Oregon Knife Show this weekend, and one of the attendees I met was carrying the Rade has his EDC and it has clearly been very well used.
