Hi to everyone just got new delica4 zdp189 and is quite stiff will it loosen up or do I need to takedown and lube?

try some oil first
if it doesn't work it may be from one of the screws, not necessarily the pivot, but the one close to it as well.
usually it ain't from the screws, considering it is new

I bought a LNIB Delica VG10 recently and it was pretty stiff when I first got it. After opening and closing it several times it's beginning to open much easier now. You have to remember it's a back lock and, due to the design, it'll likely never open as easily as some of the other lock styles. When I first got my Delica I figured I'd never be able to flick it open like I can with my frame & liner lock knives but now I can flick it open pretty easily. It takes a little harder flick to overcome the spring pressure but it's not a big deal. I typically open my back locks slowly using thumb pressure anyway.

it will definitely loosen up over time. mine was very tight when I got it but now with essentially no tampering, it's one of my smoothest opening knives.

Mine was the same,,,, I loosened the pivot screw a very small amount, less than 1/4 turn.
Added some very thin oil to lube the bronze thrust washers.
Later some Nano-oil on the contact surfaces between blade and lock bar.

Very smooth opening was result.

I have 12 Spyderco back locks, Delica, Endura, stretch, etc... I find all of them too tight from factory and requires work-in time and slight adjustment.

Here is how I do it and it works for me. First I take out the pivot screw completely, then I put on a tiny bit of blue locktite, I would check the tension on the pivot by depressing the lock bar fully and adjust it to it will drop with a casual shake (this is with the blade tip pointing to the sky). I stop there and let the locktite dry.

After that I will adjust the lock bar pivot screw to just slightly tight so the lock at can move freely.

Check blade centering, and if the blade isn't rubbing the scales I leave it at that.

T8 and T6 bits if you don't already know

This delica is way too stiff going to send it back for a para2 do those come out of box ready to flick??????

Out of 3, 2 of them are hap40. One came out of the box, flickable.. The other one was stiff and got lots of opening and closing, plus a 1/8" turn to loosen the pivot screw and a dab of Virgin oil..
It's now flickable and no blade play.

A little oil never hurt anyone, but I'd say don't go messing with the screws just yet. You can't really do any damage, but I've found with other knives that once I start playing with the screws I start playing a never ending game of blade centering. Play with it for a few weeks and you should be fine, but if not, then start unscrewing things.

When you say tight what are you comparing it to? Other lock backs? Or different locking mechanisms. In my limited experience the delica is the stiffest opening knife of all the Spyderco locking mechanisms. Even comparing the delica to the native 5 it's still quite a bit more difficult to open.
