Tighten a blade?

Just got a new Spyderco Native and the blade is a little "loose"--it moves side to side if you jiggle it. It appears pinned in place, so I don't know if it can be tightened. Any suggestions?

Same question here !...On mine I can see and feel the pin. I was not very happy with this one.

I have the same question. A friend of mine has bought a Wayne Goddard, and the blade is also slightly loose. None of my Spydies have this problem. I've talked to the local distributor in South Africa (Ramrod Manufacturing) about this, and they say that this is the way that it comes from the factory, so they can do nothing about it!... We have had a look at 3 different brand new Wayne Goddards, with 2 of the 3 knives displaying this 'problem'.

Is the "rivet" at the front end of the knife solid, or hollow? Will a few delicate taps with a light hammer help, or will it void the warranty?

If you are in South Africa, I would try the light taps. The rivet is solid, but it may compress slightly or even bend slightly, both of which would alleviate the problem. There are only a few thousands of an inch involved. The loose blade would be covered under warrantee anyway. light tap, blade closed, handle parallel, hit the rivet, backside of rivet on somethinfg hard like an anvil. If your in the US, send it to our customer serveice, they will take good care of you. Sorry for the invonvenience.

Thanks, Sal. I had the same problem with both of my Natives, but I gently squeezed them in a vise, and they're as snug as my Pro-Grips! (I would've never thought to do that.)
