Tighten screws on the Leatherman surge?

Brand new Leatherman Surge, nice in all aspects except the tool I bought it for, the scissors, loosened up after less than two minutes (5-or 6 Cuts on lightweight waxed thread.) Is there a tool to tighten the screw I have to purchase, or does it have to be sent back to the factory? I am getting pretty tired of sending Leathermen back to the factory. First it was because the Plier jaw snapped in half with normal use, (supertool) second because the blade snapped while cutting rope, (Early Wave) and now this.

it is a concern that after thirty people viewed this there was no answer, maybe my question was not direct enough. Do you have to send leathermans back to the factory to get the screws tightened?

Get yourself a security torx set and do it yourself. I got one at Big Lots for $5, check them out! :)

I'm not sure a security torx will do the job. If I read Bumppo correctly, what is loose is the scissors pivot, which has no torx fastener. Maybe it will have to go into Leatherman warranty, after all. Bummer. All my Leathermen came out of the box perfect. Looks like I got all your share of good luck and you got all my bad. :(

BTW, I got one of those security torx outfits at Big Lots, myself, and now just waiting for something to need tightening  :D .

Thanks Colonial, I will check out the torx first, and Znapschatz, happy to take a little bad luck from you if all it is ,is a few lemons. I have a lot of frustration with my Leatherman's, but I seem to be the only one I know who does. Such is my lot in life! It's OK though. Thanks to both of you for your help.

security torx worked for me -twice, so definitely worth having your own torx bit around. i think the problem might be caused by how you (or at least I, on my surge) have to pull hard on the scissors to make the jaws & spring fit into place, that must put a lot of pressure on the screws. if so, a disappointing design flaw but nowhere near enough to disillusion me with leatherman... even considering the really poor & generally wimpy design of the scissors on waves, etc. - a few days after getting my wave, my wife used the scissors on it and closed it in the most logical way, with the blades shut together, not open as in instructions - the thumb lever snapped off when the wave handles were closed. i might send it in for replacement but tbh i can see it happening again and the scissors are too small to bemuch use anyway, particularly as i prefer the surge.
