Nice looking BAS. Good grab bubbachen!

The CAK looks pretty nice too.

email sent siru, BAS

Outstanding grab there. The kerambit was also a great deal. IMHO, that 16.5 inch 30 ounce CAK is probably the next best deal of the day -- get 'em while they're hot! I've already got one, but I bet somebody will be happy to see that Hasiya too -- they're fairly uncommon, and I can't recall seeing one in antler before.

I agree, the last CAK was half an inch shorter and 4 oz heavier. At 16.5 inches and only 30 oz this looks like a nice balance. I see someone just snatched it.

Payette,

You're real lucky I didn't see that tamang about an hour earlier!

Nice score man!

Thanks, been wanting one for a while. The price is right. My first Neem specimen. Pretty excited to see how it functions. The first time I saw this knife I thought it was very WSK-esque- flat spine, with a flat portion of the blade and a forward sweep at the end for chopping power, topped with a useable point. Overall I see this design as a very good multipurpose survival tool, I can't wait to put it to use.

Lovely wood on this BAS!
And the prices are just fantastic today. My 25" Murali Siru and my Kerambit cost me almost double that back in the day.

Got the cak! It's my lucky week. First, snagged a 15" sirupati the other day and now the 16.5 cak. These will be my first and second khuks. Have never even held a khukuri before (I should probably read the safety thread this weekend:)) Is anyone familiar with the Steves sheath? How does it compare with the traditional one? Does a karda and chakra (not sure if I spelled those right) come with it? Appreciate any input on this, thanks.

The traditional sheath has that little sharp point on the end. I use it to scratch an itch. :)

The ultimate fighter knife comes with the flat american style sheath. Much thinner profile than the traditional sheath.

Khukuris are pretty thick and heavy compared to most blades out there and need something thicker to hold them in and prevent harm to the user. So the sheaths that come with them are made quite sturdy and thick. A good rig can be setup to make them comfortable to wear all day if needed.

You'll eventually find out while using your khukuri that you don't need to brute strength it through whatever you need to chop.
Mine came field sharp out of the box, with an edge all the way to the handle.

Some of the sheaths are a bit tight. Take a khukuri out with your hand on the top middle of the sheath since the edge is on the inside.

Enjoy!

Congrats on your first two khuks. The Sirupati was a very nice one. Steve's sheaths were not made with karda and chakma in mind and so khuks sold as a khuk & Steve's sheath combo do not come with the accessories. Some of my standard scabbards are easier to insert the khuk into than others. Since you have both a standard scabbard and Steve's sheath headed your way I will let you compare them yourselves.

bubbachen, excellent grab on the Siru looks like Murali went a little more acute on his edge bevel here than I am used to seeing from him.
Also reminds me, Yangdu we'd very much like an update on Sager.
