Those of you who OWN a Tilley... which model do you have?

Also.. do any of you guys have the LT5? The one with the nylon type material instead of their normal cotton duck? I am curious which material is best for fishing and being in the wet sweaty weather of FL.

I have a T3 I've used primarily for canoeing for a number of years. I like the strap system that keeps them on in wind and the foam in the crown which provides some flotation. I actually like the cotton - I believe it is more UV resistant than nylon and should last longer with significant solar exposure. In the summer I take the hat and dip it in the lake. The cotton holds a fair amount of water and provides evaporative cooling and when the hat dries out I dip it again. While this works well in North Carolina summers it is not recommended for September in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness ;-)

I have the LT5 and am extremly pleased with it. The light weight is like having a feather on your head. It provides good ventalation and does not constrict my head in anyplace. With the wind straps there is no worry about loosing it from the wind. In fact sometimes I have to force myself to take it off in the house since it is so comfortable.

DO IT!

Gents,
Check out the Ultimate Hats.
They are virtually identical to the Tilleys,
less expensive, lifetime guarantee, and they're made in America
I love mine. Built like a brick s#*thouse.
