I got to meet Tim Britton and PJ Tomes at the Chesapeake Knife Show. Both very nice gentleman, and willing to talk with the "poorer" patrons such as myself. While Mr Tomes fixed blades were astounding, I was blown away by his folders. Both Mr Britton and Mr Tomes had a few lockbacks, Mr Tomes had a tactical folder, but the slipjoints on their tables were just astounding. Both Mr Britton and Mr Tomes had some larger single blade trappers. I admit to only having handled mainly production folders, and these custom slippies were a wonder to hold. Like I said, I was one of the "poorer" attendees at the show, but all I wanted was to get one of those slippies. Also, for the razor fans in Traditional, I got to see Butch Harners razors (Butcher Block), among his other wares. I got to meet many different makers, but I just wanted to share my first real custom slipjoint experience. Mammoth ivory and jigged bone have never looked so beautiful.
I really need to ask Santa for a digital camera!

To add, I also saw some real nice friction folders, from a younger maker down south. I have his card somewhere, he had a really nice one with wood scales and a leaf spring blade. I wish I had that card with me.
