Just got the top trapper from Tim yesterday and what can I say it is beyond my expectations and then some.
4 1/8 closed BG-42 steel, S/S liners and bolsters and weights a mere 2.3 oz.
I could not ask for a better EDC than this one, great blade shape, light weight, great size and the stag is excellent. His fit and finish is superb. The bottom picture is two baby bullets lock backs with the same specs as the trapper but measures 3 3/8 closed. I have the one without the gold flower on its way, I will elaborate about this one when it comes in. I cannot express how impressed I am with the trapper and feel I will be just as impressed with the bullet. Thanks Tim for the excellent knives.

Those look really nice. Stag, BG42, with stainless frame and bolsters...that's a hard-to-beat combo.

Congrats! And thanks for sharing.

That trapper must be really good for you to rave about it. Great lookin' stag too. Enjoy using that trapper.

Any time I find a gem I feel ya need to share but only after you have got all the ones ya want on order....LOL

Both styles look great! Tim does super work and is really easy to deale with also!

Very nice. The Baby Bullet on his website caught my eye too. Any pics of the Trapper open?

Well,James gave me the nod on Tim's knives,so,I had to see for myself. With a style all his own,he delivers unbelieveable materials,in knives made with a fantastic fit and finish, his knifemaker experience and talent is obvious.
I am very pleased with these two.

Got the baby bullet lockback in and all I can say is again awsome, lockup, grind, blade center, stag and the engraving is excellent. This one weights in at a mere 1.8oz.

Forgot to mention the domed pins!!!

I swore up and down that I'd never visit forums again.....but Vince and James made me look !! It has been a REAL pleasure to get to know these guys as friends and as customers. Hope that James and I can hunt together someday ! this dude is one serious hunter.
Sambhar stag with great popcorn is available again in smaller sizes. I have enuff for about 15-16 more small lockbacks. I've received some superb stag and colorful mammoth from Banyan Bay.....good trustworthy folks.
James Culpepper has got me working on a tactical flavor trapper with small clip.....will make sure photos are posted ASAP. This is either the wackiest or the neatest idea to come down the pike in a while......more as this progresses.
I won't be doing any more of D'Lacks NY City shows so will look forward to seeing you folks at BLADE South, SHOT Show in Las Vegas or perhaps the Tulsa Gun Shows. We may do the Knifemaker's Guild Show or BLADE West this year.....not sure at this point. Best regards, Tim

They all very nice:thumbup::thumbup:
What I like that comes through in Vince's photos, Is that Tim uses thicker scales.
Great job Tim
Cheers

Mitch,You know,I never thought I'da liked that style of the way he fitted that stag on the knife, but after handling it,it changed my mind.Picture your thumb & index finger on the front bolster, fingers just rest real nice on those scales. In the case of the smaller LB,w/the even fatter stag,it helps hold on to the smaller knife. If you are to use them, that's a plus.Tim did a FINE job on these. He was a pleasure to deal with, very fast shipping.I would not hesitate in a minute,to buy more knives from him,in plural!
Hope you guys like the shots.I'll try & see if I can get the 'ol VCM3 knife in hand pictures up.Don't know why I did not do this.I may have been off my game as I was shook up over todays mail! Nice knives Tim,Thanks

Glad to see ya back, we need the ol'hands at knife making to share their wisdom and experiences with us.
The tactical flavor trapper will have a removable clip (without screws) that acts as a lanyard hole. With Tim's light trapper in carbon fiber or micarta, no back bolster and a deep carry clip it should be able to be carried in a shirt pocket and look more like an ink pen than a knife and keep it in a very handy spot for me while hunting or working (or pretense there of).
Tim has been great to work with and has endured many phone calls that start with “I had this idea ya won’t believe” to which he patiently listened too and help foster the idea.
Thanks Tim.
