I thought I would share some of my experiences with Tim. I met Tim in 2013 I had just finished my 2nd knife, I found him on the list of a local knife club members as an ex president (of course always sharing). When I spoke with him I asked what I should bring he said "don't bring anything you don't want me to see "(I should have only brought one) I really enjoyed his common sense way of speaking and problem solving. Tim spent a good hour with me and I got to see a knife he was getting ready for the Art knife invitational it was beautiful I didn't know anything about this world. I went to him wanting to make kitchen knives (and still do) but after seeing his work soon appreciated all knives, by the way he could make a beautiful s30v kitchen knife. Tim was a wonderful man and teacher he knew how to beat me up just enough critiquing one of my knives or during a welding lesson having him slap my elbow would make me smile, taking turns with him at the forge was a privilege. He was so sharing with his knowledge but sometimes would tell me to do my own test. His knowledge was incredible the way I could ask something and he would just rattle off 3/16 th of an inch or 47 to 55 degrees but usually 55. I'm surprised at the lack of comments here there were so many times I would mention a maker and Tim would say he spent a week with me or he took a lot of lessons from me it's a long list I remember a couple of months ago a great story about Master Smith Josh Smith. Tim was a mentor and friend my life is better for knowing him.
