Tim Horan knives

Tim makes good stuff. Does lots of Japanese style wrapped handles and others, too. Making some really cool folders now. Works mainly with carbon steels(think really cool Hamons), but will occasionally do some stainless. Great guy to deal with, too.

Tim's a good man and makes one heck of a knife.
Sort of a cross between tactical and Oriental. Ray skin underlays, cord wrapped stuff that is done REALLY WELL!!
Forged 1095, W2, hamon acticity, Manganese Phosphate coatings, etc.
Better git on his list!
(Tell him Danbo and Karl sent ya'!)

Received a Horan Knives ''short 'n stubby' Sub-Q Tanto from Tim, and it's pretty cool! Tim had asked me if I wanted to wrap it myself, but I told him to go ahead and do it, and his Japanese style wrap over cord came out very nice, and the kydex sheath holds on tight.

Hello,
is Tim Horan still accepting any orders?
I have been trying to contact him on 2 different e-mail addresses, but no reply so far.

I'm really interested in some Japanese style custom knife from him, they are just terrific. Willing to spend more than $500.

In case that you know he is out of game already, can you please advise any knife makers who does similar work like Horan does/did? Especially the combination of traditional Tanto style with tactical purpose. Japanese silk wrap, high-quality steel (W2 or better, T6 maybe? too expensive?), thick & durable blade.

Thanks a lot in advance.
