Another Bad idea Tim. Moving that locked thread to general is Very stupid. You can not move it. I am not going to delete it. I will email Mike Turber and Spark in the morning to discuss the issue. I hope you are ready to give a good explanation of why you seem to want to further inflame a bad situation by making it Public. Think before you fart Tim. Please.

Well, it looks like OKG may be responsable for another Forum closing, one on KFC and one here W&C. Of course he couldn't have known that you two dopes would assist him.

I know you two are really mad, but for the life of me I can't figure out what you are both so mad about?

Para, you're mad cause Tim locked a thread that you posted on....BFD

Tim, you're mad cause Para called you a name.....Oh my goodness!.....Name calling?...Gimme a break.

Tim bans Para from Chat....Para posts a dozen times on W&C....Tim moves threads from W&C to General.....Uh oh, Spark said don't do that, what's said in W&C stays in W&C. I guess Tim lost that Memo....Tim doesn't care if W&C is closed....Para doesn't care if he's not a Goderator anymore.

Very mature. Geeeeeez even MO has more sense than you two.

Para, if you are reading this DELETE this and all the other threads Tim moved here. Tim unban Para and fight this out in Chat...Trout at 2 paces....like the adults I know you are.

Let's not air our dirty draws in public. Do it in Chat where we can laugh at your stupidity in private.

You know, I really got to give OKG credit, what strategy.....divide and conquer.....I guess he wins. Al Nyman

Hi, guys.
Gee, ... W&C? Never been there. Does this kind of stuff go on there all the time? If it does, (and I know I'm sticking my nose where it doesn't belong - but I'll unstick it in just a second), then I agree with PhilL and Cougar Allen and think that it probably belongs some other place, but not here, not on New Year's Day, not where the fumes can spread so far to other 'not-in-the-know' persons like myself (and others).

Not looking to make any enemas, er, ... enemies, (both can be a pain in the butt
wink.gif
), but perhaps this would also not encourage those newbies who happen on here looking for a place to learn about knives. Most will go right here to 'General'.

In the 'old days', when a man would get ticked and say, "Step outside", it would usually be out the back door, not the front.

Then again, being fairly new myself, I don't have the authority (or even the respect of a high number of total posts) to tell a couple of moderators what they can and cannot do.

Just offering a bit of what a couple of adults who care about Bladeforums *could* and *should just maybe possibly* do.

Just my 1 1/2 cents.

Happy New Year to all Knifeknuts, Bladebuffs, and Sharpies.

Nice little pi$$ing contest fellas. Kinda reminds me of the ole Cold Steel forum, or recdotkinves.com on one of the better days.

To quote my late friend Jim, "Trial by internet,,"

What is BladeForums.com all about? BladeForums.com was created to further discussion about knives and knife related topics. Our goal was to create a place where anyone could come and speak their mind on any knife issue, without fear of attack or censorship. By ensuring that everyone has the ability and opportunity to relay their thoughts while maintaining vigilance against the problems that had plagued other forum sites, BladeForums.com "raised the bar" in online Knife Discussion.

Now, even though my profile date shows a later registration, I was one of the first 5 people to post here at BF in Oct 98. I was also the owner of the first flame here at BF, if you keep track of these things,

,so I can speak with more than a little history of these things. This whole mess is quite frankly an embarresment to the whole forum, and EVERYONE involved in it owes an apology to the rest of the members. I'll even go first: To the members, I apologise for taking part in the $hit. Now the rest of you "children" step up. This goes beyond the mere "hype" of the Busse vs Mad Dog, Earl vs BF events that killed two other forums. Passing the buck to OKG don't cut it fellas. He may have struck a match, but lotsa others piled on firewood to keep the blaze going. Read that above quote, and ask yourself how any of this trash even comes close to hitting the mark. The involvement of so many moderators, IMNSHO, is nothing short of disgusting.

BTW, happy new year.

I have to wonder why moderators (especially) would bring such an issue to the general forums. In my opinion a moderator should be held to a higher standard than a regular member, sort of like a cop on the street. If you want to air dirty laundry on the general forum then I suggest removing yourself as a moderator so someone else can control such posts. Of course I'm just a lowly member but I see moderator powers being abused here and in my opinion it's very unprofessional.

Jeff is right, of course. Sounds like a bit of a temper outburst, which everyone has from time to time. Maybe the provocation was blatant; maybe it wasn't. But it does set a bad example for the rest of us.
If you really are going to post these things, please include more juicy details so we can all participate and roll around in it. Everyone loves a good car accident or train wreck.

I'm also tired of the keyboard commandos, it's real easy to be a bully, it takes self control and maturity to be a moderator, at least, it's SUPPOSED to.

I'd just like to set things straight for those who do not know the big picture. The thread that everyone is talking about was started and developed in the private forum, Whine and Cheese. Anything goes in there (as it is now clearly evident).

The cardinal rule for those frequenting W&C and especially the moderators of that forum is that no threads will be moved outside W&C or links posted on the other BF forums. So far, everyone has heeded those rules except for a one Tim Herman. Mike and Spark make it clear what goes on in W&C, those entering do so at their own risk
wink.gif
With that being said, no apologies need to be made by those involved in the thread.

The only apology that needs to be issued is from Tim to Mike and Spark.

It's clear that Tim doesn't want W&C to be the dumping grounds from other forums. Well, if that doesn't sit well with him, why didn't he just ask to be relieved of his moderator duty then???

Let's everyone just grow up.

Happy new year ... and a big Thank You to the cooler heads that put the right perspective on this ... we don't need street fights on the forums.

*sigh*

This is rediculous. I sure hope W & C dosen't get shut down because of this.

I agree....looks like OKG is gonna succeed in getting a forum shut down here as well....

Grow up, kids.

Well HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

The Wine & Cheese forum will remain open.
The WC forum is where you can go do and say damn near anything you want about damn near any subject. Personal attacks are frawned upon but if given good cause can remain. I very rarely, if ever, go in the WC myself. When I do go in I see a bunch of fun stuff, whinny bitching, real arguements with substance and just general bull ****. Just like I do when I go to a Gun and Knife show, Blade Show and I am sure the upcomming Shot Show. The WC is just a bit more public.

Tim was warned about moving threads out of the WC. Tim will no longer be moderator.

I will try and clean up the mess so we can move on.

Happy New Year!
