At least that's what Tim Wright calls it, I asked for a small wharncliff
and he came up with this little beauty, I just finished the sheath for it

On shorter knives like this I often make the belt loop the full length of the
sheath, this helps when you go to sit you can move the knife up and out of
the way or angle it to retrieve and return the knife;

double layer welt at the start to provide a bit larger opening to make it easier to return the knife

I don't take any orders for fixed blade sheaths, these are just so you have
some ideas of what you can do with the smaller knife.

That's another excellent piece of work there. Was the lanyard something you added? It matches the sheath very well.

Thanks guys and the lanyard was an add on by me, just moved from one
knife to this one as I don't have the soft leather any more to make them
with :( have to find some as folks ask me about them all the time.

The bead is held in place by wedging in a piece of thick leather, the bead
is slid down on top of the wedge and won't slide off, works very well and
makes a handy way to retrieve the knife, plus it looks cool.

Hi Gary, that's a fine looking sheath. Great skiving.

I really like the look of your sheaths. Particularly your sewing. There's a common look in the amount of space you use between the sewing line and the edge of the sheath and the treatment of you edges that really is appealing. Perhaps that you use a punch for the holes too is part of it.
What kind of thread do you use? It's makes for a very clean looking job.
The latest rolls of the Tandy Linen stuff I have look frayed in comparison.

Thanks guys and Gal :) as to the thread it is a spool I picked up from Weaver Leather
a while back it's called
Polyester tacky wax size 554
their item number is 50-1554-WH

and you can just make out where I back stitched and can see the end of the thread
4th hole from the end, it doesn't come undone!
