I'm very excited to have picked this one up from TomF recently:

(click the picture to link to my webpage)

It features the new Timascus, titanium laminate barstock, as the handle material, and 1084&15n20 Damascus blade. The pictures only begin to show how cool this knife looks! It is simply one of the most amazing knives I have ever seen.

Enjoy!

WOW!!!

That is a fantastic looking knife Mitch...Nice ....I am thinking that is the prize of your collection right now:)

Dave,

To be sure this is a definite centerpiece of the collection. Nick Wheeler, another local maker (and long time forumite I might add) is finishing up a fixed blade dagger with Timascus handle, guard and pommel. The pair of daggers is something I've really been looking forward to! :)

Bummer you didn't make the long bike ride up to Eugene.

you should really bring it over and glass bead it!!!:p

well I couldnt leave my post like that....Toms knives were some of the nicest in the room in Eugene......not just the Timascus....EVERYTHING about them is nice! :)

Well you darn well should be excited. That is a beauty. Love that Timascus and the damascus blade looks great as well. Very nice knife.

Hey Mitch, I'd throw that thing in the trash :p

Obviously kidding ;) This was one of the coolest knives in Eugene. One of the coolest I've seen anywhere for that matter.

I'm proud to say that I'm one of the many friends in this maker/collector cirlce we seem to be building in the Northwest. I'm also very proud of my good friends Tom Ferry and Bill Cotrell for forging out the hottest thing going right now in knifemaking...TIMASCUS!!!

Mitch, I'm waiting on a new stencil, but otherwise your knife is done. I've got a few about ready to take to Daniel...so you'll have it soon so you can practice throwing it...;)

This knife was definitely one of the coolest knives at the show. One of the other coolest knives was sitting on your table Nick. Judging by the Mastersmiths who were checking it out, I'd say that speaks for itself. :) Can't wait to see how well it chops 2x4's! LOL

I was lucky enough to handle this piece at Eugene, thanks Mitch! Mitch is really proud of this commission, and for good reason! Despite Mitch's excellent pix, the knife is absolutely stunning in your hand. It's large but very light and quick. The colors just jump off the timascus as it reflects the light. Tom is really getting some great effects from timascus, the ground "bolsters" really look like gold. Also want to point out that the blade is forged and ground to Tom's usual perfection, he's really a magican with damascus. Then there's the file work and fit/finish, it's just a superb piece.
Nick's dagger is also a killer, I thought the damascus was Tom's, that's a compliment Nick! Really great job of design and execution on the timascus guard, must of took a while to carve it out! Nick has come a long way in a short time. Mitch was really stoked about this one too. Got to post a pix when you get it Mitch.
Nick really made a good point about the Northwest scene, there are a lot of great people and talent up here. The koolest part is the comraderie.:)
Also want to congratulate Tom Ferry for taking the best bowie award at Eugene and another talented Washington guy, Todd Begg, who was best new maker for his very stout and clean integral hunter.
Thanks to OKCA for another fun show.
Support your local knife show and makers!

Mike,

You worded that quite perfectly!

I think I might need to add a little instigation though: The Montana Mafia might be paying the Washington makers protection money soon! LOL ;) There's great stuff going on here!
