Does anyone have a timber pig knife? How is it? would you reccomend it?

Hi L.T.
I havent had one but I would think it would be a waste of money for a user. Get it just for a mans toy though :D

hey bl goode how about you make a knife that is designed like the tracker but not for 300.00 bucks

Yeah, a custom made knife will be lots cheaper
If you want a tracker, buy one already. If you want a cheap POS that looks like the tracker, get the paratraxx or some other knock off.

Several Trackers are "Buy it Now" on ePrey for $229. The market is pronouncing its judgment.
I have seen them several places for that price( maybe lower)online.

The linked review (Thanks, BC) reminded me of how fine the point is on the "Pig." One would have to be careful.

The Timber pig doesnt look very good to me. Too pionty for normal use in the woods I'd think???

Well her goes a small review that is realistic about the TImber Pig which is little different than the martialist. I received one of the first Timber Pigs made from Spectre Products, it was very sturdy but it was not exactly what they said it was. First it was advertised as having serrations when i got the knife they were unsharpened not even saw tooth sharp, second they said it came with a codura sheath NOTTTTTTT it was cheap webbing type material that the sharp point would poke through, third i had to work on the edges becasue they werent' very sharp. The knife had potential and i called Spectre and told them what i found and they said those things were being worked on. The steel is good and the epoxy coating is good.
Now fast forward to the new "Timber Pig II" well i certainly thought that this was going to be that much better becasue they had a kydex sheath and they even put a depression on the back of the blade for your thumb for better leverage...Well the kydex sheath was not a fitted sheath but just 2 pieces of kydex riveted togther so the kiife would fit in it and a webbing type clasp with a snap closier on it, if you don't snap it the knife just falls right out becasue the sheath is not even fitted to the knife. The edge grind was so uneven i had to reshape it to get sharp (on the front chopping section of blade) the whittiling edge for fine work was rolled so i all i did was clean it up and i actaully got it pretty servicable sharp.
It Does not compare to the Tracker and the Timber Pig II had worse quality issues then the first one. I will use it as a don't care what i do to it knife and it is a hunk of steel that seems to be heat treated fairly well. For the price you are getting what you pay for. Oh and one more thing there really are serrations on this one, however i had to sharpen them up because they did not cut anything mainly due to the fact that they were not resharpened after the epoxy coat was put on them.
Sorry for misspelling but it is late i am tired and have a few beers in me. if anyone really wants i can go inot depth what i have done with the first one and it has stood up to abuse.

P.S.
BLGOODE YOU ARE RIGHT WAY TO POINTY!!!
