After considerable deliberation and studying of reviews, I decided to try a Timber Rattler Bowie. It arrived today and I must admit that I am happy with it. Yes, I realize that it is a Pakistani budget Bowie, but I really like the heft and feel of this one. Mine actually came with a decent edge, and after a quick strop it cuts paper. The sheath is suspect in leather quality, with a sloppy stitching job (loose) on the belt loop, and the tie snap located on the wrong side of the guard. But I can fix both of these issues with a sewing awl and will have a sheath that is a good fit and will do the intended job. The handles are well fitted and the brass guard is tight. It will be a good addition to my growing Bowie collection. It's a huge knife with considerable weight but well balanced, and I imagine it will weigh heavily on your belt for extended wear.

I personally think with my old age social security budget that Timber Rattler knives are a fun to own budget knife. Fit and finish is excellent, heavy, strong, good looking and they cut and continue cutting. I don’t purchase them for an investment, only for my pleasure. Inexpensive but not cheap quality. Try one before you condemn them. NO, I don’t sell them or have anything to do with stockings or selling them. No problem if you don’t like them, Nuff said!!!!!!
