This unusual looking tool was used for marking crates, barrels other wood products. This one is a Wostenholm with nice burnt stag handles. Please show your scribers. Thanks

Wow! That's a particularly nice one, s-k!
I've never owned one of these, but you are stimulating the collector's obsession in me by showing me such an object!!

That is a great looking knife. I have had some wood and brass handled ones in the past(don't have any right now though), but I have never seen a stag one.

I've said it before. If it isn't Charlie showing some interesting bit of history, it's S-K! Totally cool knife, S-K. Thanks for sharing it.

I got an old Camillus Timber Scribe, (didn't they also call them raze; raise knives?) but I only have horrible pics, I'll post those and take better ones tomorrow.

This baby was loved by it's former owner, carried deep in his pocket every day, (a true EDC knife), he loved it so much he carved his initials into it so no one would try to lay claim to it, (not that he would ever let it out of his sight) .

This knife has character, the letters EB were deep carved into the scale, (using a timber scribe to cut the letters in), the scales are so worn from use they were as smooth as glass, still sharp as hell, this puppy was cherished.
