I wonder if anyone could assist me. I purchased a "Timberline 8018 Ceramic Blade Kickstart Knife" from Amazon the other day. The knife is fine, super sharp. However, it needs adjusting, as most assisted openers do when you receive them. It has a five hole nut and my regular tools aren't having amy luck in loosening it. It will barely open, and definitely not with one hand.
The website for Timberland.com says it's "under construction," and the vendor for Amazon is no help whatsoever. I'm sure I could fiddle with it and perhaps loosen it up, but it's a nice knife and I'd hate to screw it up. I'm sure there is a special bit for this type of thing, but I don't have one, and can't find one at the hardware store. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try pinching two sewing pins in your fingers between your thum and finger. Stick the ends of the two pins in the holes and use that to adjust the screw.

Have you contacted either the seller or Amazon about the issue? Exchanging it should not be an issue.

Looks like there's a torx head in the middle of the pivot assembly. Is that not what you should be using? The whole knife looks like it's torx bits. Am I being extra dumb today?
