Timberline Tactical has just released a production version of Greg's tactical pen and I was lucky enough to pick one up from Greg at the CKG show last week...here is a quick review...
The pen is made of aircraft aluminum and features a "fluted barrel" and "ported" muzzle. The actual pen refill is German made and uses the same technology as the Space pen so it can write upside down.
I asked Greg about the design and he said"
" The design was inspired by a fluted handgun barrel. I thought ,gee that barrel would make a great pen. From there it was a matter of keeping the handgun theme and still be somewhat useful to write with. The pressurized insert makes it a great writer in outdoor situations. The box is just cool "
In terms of exact specs:
Material: T6 aluminum with hard coat anodize
Length: 6.00" (154 mm)
Barrel Diameter: .50" (13 mm)
Weight: 2.20 ounces (.06 kgs.)
The pen comes beautifully packaged in a slick black sleeve over a black box
The pen itself is encased in a metal box with glass cover
