Gang- I snagged one of these folders that was sitting at a local gun shop for a long time. This is a nice folder. It has the Neely Lock.
Any fans here?
rolf
maybe someone could post a pic please.

I have one that I bought 20 yrs ago..very nicely made and I've never seen another Neely lock.

Thanks. ^
VERY well made! The action is SO stiff though. I need to break it in.
I was going to move this one but it's too unique.

the main issue with the neely lock was that,
should it's blade get really stuck or jammed tight into something that was being cut;
chances are that forceful vertical pulling motions would disengage the lock.
having said that, i would use it on soft and not so compact objects.
but other than that,
yeah!
it's quite some knife to look at.
i have the spearpoint and another with tini coating, btw.

Very cool and thanks for the pic! And the advice.
Didn't they offer a Red version?

I don't recall a red, but I have black and camo models.

They were also made in clear handles as dealer demos with fake unsharpened blades. Back when, AG Russell sold some with the clear handles and a real blade.

The Timberlite was apparently made by Camillus, and so when Camillus closed a few years ago there was a small flood of Timberlite knives hit the market.

I used one of those for years and it got to get stiffer with use. I gave it away.--KV

Thanks again for the pix, GM.
If this knife gets harder to open, the more I use it, it's going to go, now!
