I was going thru my drawer with all my knifes and documenting them with pics in case they would ever come up missing. I came across this Timberwolf IV. It has a bone handle, 440 stainless and says SKB3 Japan on the blade. I think I received it as a gift 30+ years ago. I can't find anything searching the web. Is it a collector or to be used as a edc? I a unable to post a pic.
Thanks.

As a registered user, you can post pictures using a picture hosting site. I use Imgur, but there are others. Once you have uploaded a picture to the hosting site, copy the web address of the picture. Note: picture web addresses must end in .jpg or .gif

Then go to your post and click the image tool on the toolbar next to the smiley tool. Click the link icon in the popup. (Looks like a chain.) Paste the picture address into the window. Then click the INSERT button.

If I had to guess, I'd say, "EDC. LIkely built well, but of no collector value." That's based on the alloy, age, and birthplace of the knife.
There were a lot of nicely built Japanese knives in the 80's - 90's. I'm not aware of anyone who specifically collects them. I'm not familiar with the "Timberwolf" brand.

If that knife looks like a Buck 110 it was probably made for Jim Parker about 1979 or so. He had a lot of knives made by Tak Fukata and Seizo Imai. Timberwolf IV is nothing to do with a brand name either, its the model name, part of a limited production wildlife series of some sort.

Seeing what a Timberwolf 3 (SKB2), and a Timberwolf 5 (SKB4) sold for on ebay, I'd say use it. Use the hell out of it. That's the only real value you'll likely ever get from it.
