Isn't it great how simple it is to clean a Sebenza? Earlier, I let my girlfriend cut up an avocado with my small insingo (I was using the santoku to cut salmon) and when she was done, it had green chunks sticking out of ever crevice. :p I told her to just wash it under hot running tap water and it would be fine.

After she left, I got bored so I decided to do a deeper clean so I removed the blade and washed everything up (Don't we all have some OCD about clean knives?). While it was apart, I figured I would condition the blade with Miltec-1 (Heat the blade, apply Miltec-1, repeat several times). Once the blade was treated, I cleaned everything off again and reapplied CRK grease.

I am still amazed at how smooth the Sebenza is after a good cleaning and lube. It is almost like falling in love with the Sebenza all over again with the smooth hydraulic opening and closing!! I also noticed that the new perforated washers really hold the grease for a longer period of time. Upon opening the Sebenza, it still had grease visible in the holes!

I should let her use it more often so I can find an excuse to take it down and relube it...
