It has been a while since my last giveaway. I have a good one for you; a Case Ginger Ale Winterbottom Bone Saddlehorn Trapper! The only rule is that you post a few photographs of your home, the area around your home, and your pets. Please do not be shy or stingy with the pics!! I like learning more about our friends here on the Porch. Plus, if you are like me, where you live and the pets you have reveal a lot about the person.

I live on a horse farm across Lake Pontchartrain north of New Orleans. It is a very peaceful part of Louisiana. Animals have always been a big part of my life, especially horses and dogs.

I will keep this thread open as long as people keep posting. Along with your photographs and descriptions, just state whether you want to be included in the drawing or not.

Plus, if you are like me, where you live and the pets you have reveal a lot about the person.
Exactly! I'm too devious to enter this one, but that is a glorious knife and thanks for your generosity.

Maybe I could sneak some pictures of somebody else's house and pets. But for now, not an entry.

Not an entry as I was recently the recipient of your generosity.
I will join in and post a few pics of my best friend Rilley.

Thanks for the generous giveaway Leslie :) Not an entry from me, just a thanks for those wonderful pics  I imagine our regular posters already know a heck of a lot more about Yorkshire than they did before they signed up here, and possibly more than they may want to, so I'll keep this brief! ;) Good luck everyone

Thank you, Greg, I'll play! You have a beautiful home! And you did say to be free with the photos! ;)

We live in a subdivision about 30 miles west of St. Louis, but pretty near farmland, and with lots of undeveloped areas close by.

Well I don't have any pets anymore. I've had jobs with too much travel, and I won't get a dog I can't take time to train properly, but all the neighbor's critters and kids love to come visit. I live in a small town of @8000 people squeezed up against Puget Sound by Tacoma and Ft Lewis. We don't have much front yard, but the back is pretty good. This house is the only place I've stayed in more than 3 years since I left high school. I'm not planning on moving again if I can help it.

A water view would double my property value, but I'm only a 5 minute walk from the water. I love to go down to this park and just watch the ferries while the sun goes down.

Not an entry, I've got more than my share this year as a matter of gifts!
Not my home, btw, but my daughter's, in a tiny village (<350) North of Burgundy where I stay as often as I may.
(t'was a foggy november morning, missed of little a wild hog crossing the road running away from hunters!)

Summers are quite hot, a farm and sawmill as neighbours,

One of my friends pulled this out of his aunt’s pond a few weeks ago!

Bigfattyt Bigfattyt Beautiful photographs! I wish I could help work those cattle. I find it interesting that you use an elephant toenail knife. Could you tell us why you chose that knife and how you use it?

eisman eisman What a peaceful setting!

Jolipapa Jolipapa My ancestry is Acadian, or as we say in Louisiana, Cajun. I imagine my ancestors must have left behind the beauty of France with heavy hearts. They might have lived in quaint villages like the one your daughter is so fortunate to live in. To end up several generations later contending with giant alligators in the swamps of la Louisiane, oh la la! How unfair! By the way, I really like your Norton.

CelloDan CelloDan , I have been enjoying your nature photographs. Thanks for participating. I like your boats, but not sure I would take on a 10 plus foot gator from either one!

And I am in deep respect of your generosity, Les!

Jeff Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund , that was an amazing and moving post. What a beautiful family, and those Walnut Trees!...superb.

Here is my grandson playing with the best dog ever. I also threw in a little knife content and photos of our cow herd for Bigfattyt Bigfattyt .

BTW, GT @5K Qs , the Longhorn is standing on the other side of the pond from where I used to take the photos that you admired. And the scrimshaw artist is named Linda Layden. I found her on Etsy as you did. Her work is amazing.

Not an entry. I've won some GAWS AND been the recipient of generosity here on the Porch, but I'll post a few pics.

My home in December 2017. Been living in Corpus Christi most of my life, and have only had snow three times: 1967 (I think), 2003 or 2004 (it was Christmas Eve, and my daughter was a baby), and 2017. That's her at age 14.

I’ll enter. I live in Sacramento, but don’t have any pictures of the house or neighborhood readily available. Here’s a picture of my dogs. A couple of border collies that I use at work with the cattle.

I drove to Oregon today to ship calves in the morning. I took a couple pictures of where I’m staying at the ranch tonight just before it got too dark.

Back to Sacramento tomorrow after shipping. Thanks for letting me share.

This Scrimshaw GEC 78 really fires up my imagination. I can lose myself in the scene. To paraphrase Jimmy Buffet, I feel like a pirate 225 years too late.

Vince, I knew we could count on you for an excellent post. Prester John Prester John What am interesting corner of Texas you live in!

Sacto Sacto Now that you have whet our appetite, please post some photographs of the ranch in the daylight. Are you planning any knife purchases with your profits from those calves? Do you buy knives from Dave Ferry @Horsewright ? I know California is a big state, but you must be fairly close to him. He makes incredible knives, and his leatherwork is every bit as good.

I believe the drawing will be this weekend, so please post your entries. That Saddlehorn is a sweet knife!
