I know some of you collectors here don't get over to shop talk very often, but if you are interested in seeing something different from some of our favorite makers here keep an eye on this KITH that just opened up today. Its for Mini's only!

This is the official start thread, pictures do get posted in there so check it out from time to time.

Official 2012 Mini Knife KITH

This is last years thread with lots of pictures throughout if you want to see the quality of work these fine makers do

Minis are a small segment (pun intended) of the collectible knife world and I think show cases the talents of these makers very well. It can be a great way to start with collecting customs if you never plan to use them. Also a great way to display your interests publicly without frightening the sheeple!

Check it out, feel free to comment on pictures and maybe pick up a mini for yourself!

Thanks for the heads up! I really like minis, especially IF they are to scale. Here's a photo of one I did a sheath for earlier this earlier this year. Maker of the knife was Dennis Friedley

Paul, that is amazing work as usual! That knife is just gorgeous from what I can see! I agree about the to-scale part, that is often the most difficult part for most makers, getting it thin enough! Not realizing that at full scale it would be 1/2" thick or the handle would be 9" long. I did the 1/5 scale USM3 last year and the blade was .025" thick with the guard being .018" thick. I even used scale thickness leather for the stacked handle.

Maybe I'll send you a bowie I'm working on and have you do a mini sheath for it in book leather.

One more bump for this. The KITH is now closed and all finished knives are now posted, waiting for shipping instructions. Some cool stuff this year! Hopefully this event will grow each year.
