Well idk about you guys, but I love both the 940 and the 943....but I also love the mini griptilian...for edc, and sometimes people get all wigged out about a 3.45 inch blade being wipped out...all im saying is materials, and size of the mini grip...I would be all for that. I know the 940 is a flagship bm, but I would like to see a small one. What do you think?

I think a 707 already fits the bill. Its got Aluminum handles as well, just shrunk to a mini grip size.I honestly wouldn't be interested in a smaller 940/943, its about as sleek and slim as I like, and the blade size is easy packed away. For me, I'd say its a perfect "little big knife"

I can agree on the blade shape, the reverse tanto blade that osbourne does is my favorite shape hands down.

I think the 94X are pretty good as is. I'll keep beating the drum for a mini Adamas...

Just came in today. Its my second one. IMO, a very ugly blade shape, but incredibly functional design.

I would check out the 960 or the 770. Both osborne designs smaller than the 940 not the same blade shape though and of course, both discontinued

the 940 wasn't too apealing to me at first but now I absolutely love it, maybe just because of the pure functionality of it idk but I shamelessly oogle it nowadays

I should probably give the 940 a second try; really disliked my first one (I'll be fair, I bought it used).

I'd really like a larger one though, somewhere close to 3.75, just my opinion.

If you want one with a blade in that size range, you should check out the 950 Rift or the 810 Contego. They both have the reverse tanto and more or less a 940 grip shape, obviously in G10 as opposed to AL. I have an 810 that I absolutely love.

And here I though the 94x was plenty small. Just big enough to fit in the hand and just small enough to not look like a big knife. I'd rather carry the 810 or 275 but some times that's just not realistic. The 943 works well in slacks.

Despite the excellent 3.5 blades, which are real slicers, I think of the 94x as smaller knives and can't imagine anything smaller than these already are. Just put a 940 next to a 556 and factor in the slim handle scales...I'm not sure I would buy one, just saying.

I'd go for a 940 with a 3" blade for us in L.A. with statutory limits. The 470 which is another Osborne design is pretty good too with a 3" blade but I like the style of the 940 better including the modified reverse tanto blade.

I think the 94X series is about as small as I would go... Smaller, no thanks.

I can see the appeal for those who live in areas with blade size restrictions but for me the 940/943 are thinner and narrower than some BM so called minis. I still want a G-10 940 ;-) I already have a 470 and both silver aluminum and stainless steel 960s for smaller EDCs when wanted.

Wish I had seen this sooner; ended up getting a new 940...lol
And I actually like it now, it's definitely a lot better than the beater 940 I picked up awhile back. Definite +1 for this one..
Might get the Contego somewhere down the road (although I hear the scales get troublesome....)
