Hey all. I've been carrying my Manix 2 LW for a year now. I absolutely love it but I have the new knife itch. I've been watching YouTube videos and reading through forums in search of my next purchase. I've narrowed it down to a Benchmade 940(or 940-2) or a Griptilian. Then I got thinking that maybe there's a knife I haven't stumbled across that I might like better. So I'm asking you guys for some recommendations on a folding edc knife in the same price range as the 940. It also must have a pocket clip or I'll lose it my first day carrying it. Thanks in advance! Pictures welcome!

If I were you, I'd try a different lock type, see how you like them. PM2 could be a good choice if you like the Manix, similar blade shape, different lock, proven quality and a few options you could choose from. If you want a different lock type and opening, I would go ZT, can't go wrong with any of their models really.

If you like the Manix then you should check out the Shaman from Spyderco.

OK here you go . . . I have and like the 940 . . . I'm all about my Ritter Griptilian . . . practically my favorite knife for cutting abrasive stuff at work is my Para2 with M4 steel
but
the knife that eluded me (I almost bought a Benchmade Contego just to get a longer blade in M390) but then I stumbled across the Benchmade 710 which was available in M390 and it was pretty much exactly what I wanted; a long blade but not overly wide with a narrower handle than the Contego. You might check out the 710.

I think the 940-2 and Griptilian (551-1) are both fantastic knives, but I would take the 551-1 over the 940-2. Both are great picks though.

Check out the Protech Cambria, it's a button lock flipper with a great detent and is nice and light too.

Try the new Esee Medellin, its kind of like the Kershaw Blur ,minus the recurve blade ,now this would be a fun beater knife....

I love my Grip but the regular scales feel so cheap... Grip with G10 scales!

Can't go wrong with a BM. I'd go 940-2 with G10 over a 940 myself. If you go Grip, I'd go G10 too.

I'd also suggest looking at ZT 562 or 801 variant.

I also like the Lionsteel KUR.

Benchmade Custom shop Grip or Barrage with an M4 blade. De-assist the Barrage.

For inexpensive aftermarket scales, look up Putnam G10, but I am sure you can find others for not too much more...
