Time for a new knife!

Been a while since I posted. Looking to treat myself to a new knife. Since I've been out of the game, I'm not familiar with Spyderco's current offerings. I'm looking for something with a 3" or less blade. Pocket carry and undecided on scales. I would prefer a PE, but would be open to a combo edge if the application fits. What are my options?

2nd the Para 3 recommendation! One of my favorite Spyderco platforms.

Delica, Native 5, Chaparral, and Sage series are also great options.

Any one of the Sage models or if you want to go smaller, the Chaparral is a big favorite around here. The Techno may be a good option too. All from Taichung so you know they're great.

Both the Native and Dragonfly caught my eye as well. I have an older Delica. That knife fits so many uses! I also have an older Endura and that's too big for this application.

Tight budget = Delica
Splurge = Para 3

Both models are presently available with special steels in limited quantities.

Regards,
FK

I was in the exact same position as you and spent a long time contemplating it! I was torn between Native 5, Para 3, Sage 5 and Chaparral (FRN). I wanted this opportunity to experiment with different steels and lock mechanisms as well as a new model. It was a tough choice but in the end I plumped for the Para 3 in M390 and I have been very impressed with ergos, compression lock, and steel. Unfortunately (for my wallet) it has made me more determined to try the other models I was considering....I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever you choose.

The Lil Native is a nice newer model to check out. Compression lock and not sure if it's out yet but there's a backlock version too.

Is that you Grumpy scoundrel?

I'm a big fan of the Native 5. I found I actually prefer the LW FRN models, and there are so many fun steels to choose from! :)

My current EDC is the S90V Cutlery Shoppe exclusive, but I"m looking forward to the LC200N variant!
