Time for a revamped Harpy? G-10 maybe?

For the past 3 months I've been carrying my G-10, ATS-55, SE Harpy. Yes I was lucky enough to get a user version of that great classic collector's piece.

This classic Spyderco Hawkbill is just a sterling cutting tool with a G-10 handle. I hope some of you will agree with me that it's high time we ask for the Great Spyder Factory to not only bring back this great hawkbill with a G-10 handle but maybe a micarta or even a Carbon Fiber handle as well.

Most of the jobs I use my Harpy on I need the utmost of grip/purchase when working with a hawkbill. I don't have the full confidence in stainless handles that I do with some of the more grippy handles.

I'm sure I'm not alone with this one.

I love hawkbills and though the size of the harpy is a bit on the small side for my taste, the fact that it has SS as its handle/scale material is the only reason I haven't bought one. If they changed the handle material, I would definitely pick up a couple.

Hell yeah.
The only reason I never got one was that I wasn't diggin the stainless handle.
Make it G-10 or carbon fiber and it's good to go.:)

I got a Tasman Salt and it works fine for my purpose, no need to jack the price up with upscale handles for me.

There are 2 things to consider here Sherlock>> First of all I own 2 Tasmans myself and love them both dearly. But the spine on the Harpy is much more ridgid and the locking system seems to be much more solid on my G-10 version with a liner. If you ever worked a day with this G-10 Harpy you would quickly see it's a completely different blade with fortified hardware and a thicker blade. Not to mention all the newer blade steels that Spyderco would have at it's disposal. But I'm not stopping there I would also like to see a G-10 Spyderhawk on the horizon as well.
