Hey All,
So after collecting folders of various makes and models, I have decided to get a Large Sebenza 21 Insingo.
I guess I would be considered a typical collector-user, other than the fact that I don't sell any of the knives I buy. At least not yet. With that being said, I still have an itch to keep searching for that one perfect folder, even straight after a purchase of a very nice Benchmade, Emerson, Spyderco, etc. I still have this urge to keep going. Don't get me wrong, I love all of my knives, it's more of a 'Am I missing something?' Situation.
Needles to say..(I meant needles)lol I think now is the time for my first Chris Reeve Knife,,,A Sebenza. And after reading some of those.."I would never pay that for a knife" threads, I have ordered one on the weekend. Should be here Wed. And I am feeling like a kid at Christmas..at 50 lol.
I'm sure you guys have had many of these first time buy threads, but I just felt the need to tell someone as most of the people I know do not have an understanding of fine knives.
Cheers

Can't promise that your purchase will solve this itch that most of us have, but I can promise that you won't find a much better knife than a large Seb especially with an insingo blade. The fit and finish of a sebenza is 2nd to none that I've handled, maybe only matched by an XM. Gosh it's a great knife!

Congrats and enjoy!

Thanks dwcliff,
Yes the itch is a bad one, but I got a feeling that this one is going to be good, if not...then hold me off for a while.lol
Cheers

Could not have said it better.

" Time For A Sebenza "

Does that mean I am allowed to get another one......??????????

Congrats sir! Large 21 sebbie was my first CRK!

I have found that my umnumzaan's are my fav CRK's :D

I have a large Insingo in my pocket right now, for me it really is the perfect knife.

I hope that you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
Congrats on your first CRK, it will most likely be the first of many :D

I'm guessing that trade is suiting you well eh Rich?? lol... Not just the Sebby, you can't go wrong with CRK on any buy. Slim EDC and comfortable are the Sebby's, the mnandis are a true gentlemens pocket knife with very nice and different styles of inlays, and the umnumzaan's are just tanks!! Right now my EDC (besides my nano) is a large Damascus micarta Sebby. Comfortable and good texture in the hand, and the Damascus blade is just lagniappe... The pinnacle of a no nonsense folder. JMO...

Yes Sir, I'm very happy with the trade, the Large Insingo is my favorite knife right now and this one is a great example of a what CRK can build.
I still love my Umnumzaan's and ill get another Mnandi some day, but until then, this Large Insingo is the edc knife of choice.

I just ordered my first large 21 and I am so excited. I got my first reeve knife a little bit ago, a small 21 and loved it so much that I just had to get another. Congrats on picking up a large 21 insig

Glad you like it cause that blade style just wasn't for me.

Let us know what you think since today is the big day it should arrive......!!! I personally have tried many many other folders from the big major brands out there and I have ALWAYS came back to CRK. Because they simply are the best. Many say they are over priced, but if you watch any of the CRK videos, you will quickly see that they may even be under priced for what your getting.....!!!

Update...So it wont be here until Monday. It looks like this is being sent as a parcel, not a padded envelope like my others. Apparently this will take longer. I only ever waited 2-3 days. But hey, I understand and will have to wait a little longer. It's my first, so I am ok with this.
I will definitely post my thoughts on it when it shows up, then I will play with it for a while and post again. If what I have researched on this knife is all correct, then I think it will be a steal at the price. I don't mind paying good money for good product. This applies to everything.
Super hyped here, I know this is my next step in collecting and am going nuts waiting.lol
Cheers All

It's here. I just got it home from the post office and I am freaking out. This is awesome, wow. All I have for now is wow. My first Sebenza and I am seeing it. I am going to play with her for a while, so I will get back with some pics and thoughts.
Wow
Cheers

I ordered my first sebenza today and am having it 2 day air so I don't have to wait so long. Lol. I'm also on a pre order for the 25 but had to get a regular while I wait :) pretty sad huh?? Congrats on your purchase!!!!!

You are in for a treat.
If you're anything like me, most of the high end production usual suspects etc..this is gonna blow your mind.
First off, and as a nice surprise, a tad slimmer than I expected, which is a bonus for me. I am used to carrying mid to large folders so this to me is perfection. After one hour with this, I am completely impressed.
My late dad was an old school tool and die man, he taught me a few things about fit and finish, and this is really looking good. In fact, the more time I spend, the more I think the price is very good for this kind of work.
I can't wait play some more with her so here are some crappy phone pics. (apologies) and I will be back.
Cheers

Congrats! Great knife. The 25 is all I have after trading my insingo. I have a thing about not having multiples of similar knives. That and I keep only what I carry. I have fallen in love with the 25 so much, it is the ONLY folder I have left. (well, I am working a trade for another folder for my "extra" fixed blade) but for now it is the ONLY folder I have left:)
