hi all.
It's Friday night, and rather than my typical drivel, i'm in the mood to do something beneficial on the forum tonight. Yup...time for a giveaway.

I am giving away a sheath i made for the JK Knives Vermont Hunter. I was liking the way it was coming together...a fine example of a LH sheath. Uhhh...i'm not left-handed. Curses!

I know this is not that exciting, but i saw it sitting here and figured i'd see if anyone could use it.

Let's see....what to do? let's have some fun, shall we? Why don't you tell me about the knife you've had the longest. Pictures are encouraged, but not required.

If you don't want to play along, that's fine too. I will choose the winner by random number generator. Let's make this a quick one. I will choose the winner sometime Monday night.

**Please note, i will only ship within the CONUS (apologies).

The prize.....

I'll play my own game. I think this is my oldest. it is a late-80's/early 90's Made in Finland Gerber fillet knife. it's been around the block. i see it still has sand and mung left on the ricasso from it's last outing. usually, i just plunge it into the sand a couple times to clean it.

I'm in. I can't post pictures easily, but I might have a buddy make me a knife to fit in it if I get it. So it would help a custom knife maker make some money :)

Thanks for the chance.

This is my oldest knife, and my second oldest possession. I bought it at the local hardware store with my own money when I was about 12, so it’s about 53 years old. I was a nickel short at the time, and the clerk gave me a 5 cents discount. It was used hard – lots of mumblypeg, throwing and sticking and other kids’ stuff. The blade says Ulster, USA. The little silver emblem fell off long ago.

Had a cheap chinese balisong that a friend sold me in high school, about 6 years ago. Finally broke last year when I was flipping with it and dropped it on the floor. The bite handle broke near the tang. It's the knife that got me into knives, so I didn't want to just bin it, so I broke off the handles (didn't take much effort; it really is a wonder how it took me 5 years to break it), blunted part of the edge, and wrapped that part in paracord. Then made a sheath out of duct tape. Now it's a letter opener, which I gave to my mom.

My first knife(knives) were victorinox classics with the name of the latest drug the reps were pushing on it. Dad is a doctor so these were given to him frequently by the drug reps. I would keep one for a while, a friend would like it so I would give it to them. I knew I could always get another. What I "consider" my first knife would be my camillus Cub Scout knife. I think I'm still in possession of it but it is buried in one of my many boxes in the basement. This happens when one moves cross country multiple times - some things never get unpacked. Like a lot of my family I am dominant lefty.

Pick me! Pick me!

Not often you come across an extra left-handed sheath. I'm sure I can find something to fit it.

The knife I've had the longest is my Camp-King. My dad gave my brother and I each one. I think I was 7 or 8 years old. We also were given hooks for the bail on a leather strap that went around your belt. If I remember correctly I chose the black one and left the brown one for my brother. Turned out to be pretty good knives even if the plastic scale covers came off one side of mine.

LH here.

I lost any knife I ever had as a kid. The one I got first in knuthood is a Ka-Bar Warthog fixed blade impact series. It is a seriously cool knife, and in my bag.

First knife I had was a fantasy 20 inch sword for like 35 bucks, thinking it was a real battle ready sword which I swung around on cardboard, bottles, wood and tried to chop off a tree. cant believe it took me 4years to break the rat tail tang. I reprofilled it and wrapped paracord around the broke off edge and now its my machete. preety darn handy actually

I'm in please. I'm a lefty and am always frustrated at the lack of sheaths available in that option.

I bought this Walt Campbell knife from the maker in Sterling, Alaska while on vacation there in 1998. I took it on my first real backcountry hike the next day.

I'm in. I'm a lefty, so that could come in handy.

I haven't been into quality knives for very long, but my oldest knife is a Schrade hunting knife that I broke the tip off while bored in my treestand. My first quality knife was a Kershaw scallion, but received a new one because that first one broke.

My oldest is, I believe, a Schrade Sharpfinger my dad bought me in the late 70's. I don't use it anymore but on occasion I get it out.

I'll play, thanks for the chance and for helping out us lefties!!

The one I've had the longest is a Kershaw Leek. I picked it up at a local Cabelas on a whim, and its the knife that lead me to bladedforums and this addiction we all share. It also bit me about a month after I got it while trying to cut a zip tie. Earned me a 5 stitches on my right index finger. Since then I've cut that same finger two more times. Once about cut it off with my BK9, and the last time with a CS tomahawk. Now I've 3 nice scars and barely any feeling in my index finger.., I blame it all on that damn Leek, but I can't seem to let myself get rid of it!

LOL, and thanks again for the chance! Nice looking leather work too!

Latest collection pic. There's probably been about 15-20 new additions since this picture though. The Leek that started it all is in the somewhere.

Pic of one of the bites(my apologies if this is too "gory").., think this one was from the BK9 but you can sorta see the scar from the Leek slightly in front of the fresh one(between the same two knuckles though).

Being a lefty and having a knife or two that just may fit perfectly in that I must join in if I may.
I recently sold my oldest knife and gave the next oldest to the gentleman that bought it. One was a Gerber Command II and the other was a Gerber Folding Sportsman.
This one is probably now the one I've had the longest. I would love to know who made it.

I'm in, I'll have to post some follow up pictures tomorrow. I'm a lefty and it's not too often you see a GAW for lefty sheaths, cool indeed.

My grandpap gave me an old, Old Timer slipjoint when i was a young child. I've had it my whole life and taken excellent care of it. Part of me wants to carry it but it has so much sentimental value that i think i'd be pretty crushed if i lost or broke it.

I've had a buck 119 for so long now, it must have been my first man-sized fixed blade. Nice work on the sheath, have you sold any? I might be interested in one for my usmc if you'd be willing.

I'm a lefty and would like to participate. The knife that I have had the longest is a Schrade Sharpfinger that my dad gave me as a kid in the early 70's. I used it to field dress a feral hog not that long ago. I had a Victorinox well before that one but I gifted it to my son.
