I just bought and recieved my Emerson CQC7,I love it. This knife is built like a tank.I will eventually buy another Emerson, but there are so many other great folders out there as well. I'm going to get a CRK Folder,a Strider Folder, but there is one I would like to get some opinions about before I make the $400 jump. Its a Combat Elite Level 4.Are these worthy of the price tags?

Thanks everyone! MPE

hey mpe, your sickness appears to be growing. :D

a crk sebenza is an excellent choice. so are striders, i had an sng, also built like a tank and very sharp.

dont know much about the wilsons, but i usually dont buy 440v blades. i generally like a harder steel, ats34, s30v, infi.

it is probably best to see them in person before dropping that much money.

good luck!

According to the Wilson site, the Combate Elite level 4, has a blade of S30V. I have an RRF from when Darrel Ralph & his stepson owned Combat Elite. My RRF IS ann EXCELLENT knife!! It is one of my favorites. I have no idea about WC quality. What I CAN tell you, is that I did not like what I saw at Blade, in regards to the Combat Elite. I wouldn't buy it. But, that is me.

I've had two of the Combat Elites and wouldn't get another one. It just doesn't seem like alot of knife for the money.

Thanks everyone.Maybe the questions I had ,were hesitations instead.Maybe I will pass on it. But yes Morimotom, the sickness is growing and I am loving it!

I have owned all 3. The Sebenza is by FAR the best of the bunch, they are in a different class of knives. I no longer own anything from Strider (too many QC issues to be in the $400 range), and I agree with Theknifecollector. Good luck and buy what catches your eye.

I won't buy another Strider either. I do have 3 Sebenza's, and highly recommend them!!!

I have 2 striders that are issue free. A GB and a PT. I have a small sebenza that is also a joy. Sebenza's are never a mistake.

If you want oomph, try a Rick Hinderer XM-18!

That may well be my next planned purchase commitment. If I can get him to answer his email that is!

can take rick a week to answer-ymmv-lol
i thought i read here at bf he wasnt taking anymore orders for a while-jammed up with new machines that didnt work at first, got a bit behind

you also have to remember he's a partimer-

so be patient waiting for a reply

if he tells you the wait is a year or more-say ok-you wont regret it-might be the true giant killer for the $$ knife out there-the 3'' was $330 thats dang close to free-lol

I've got a PT on the way and already have a Small Sebenza that is great. I really hope there are no issues with the Strider. As far as Rick Hinderer goes,
that's just a matter of time;) ....
I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever choice you make. Good luck.

I love Striders, and I've owned all models except the RC and RCC, and but just because I don't like recurves. I greatly prefer them to Sebenza's, but that just me, Y.M.M.V. In fact I only have one knife now, and it's a Strider.

The thing I find sad about this is, before I can even buy the next knife on my list,I find several more to add to the list! I did buy a CQC10 BLK PL Thursday and am going to get a Sebenza next. From there I think a RCC will fit the bill.
