Hello BF! I have been lurking here for a while now, but here is my first real post. I have had my BM 550 Grip in 440C for quite sometime now and I feel like I am finally ready for a new EDC knife. I know it is not the most expensive knife out there, but I have loved everything about this knife. You guys and gals probably share the same feeling when it comes to some of your pieces. I have beat on this in every possible way in my line of work and it has been resilient every time. So basically what I am looking for is a knife of the same caliber or better, but under $200. I have been looking at the Ritters, but I kind of want to try a new platform this time around as I already own a few BMs already even though I am fond of the axis lock. Any advice is appreciated.

Im not sure how you feel about their designs, but the Spyderco Manix 2 is one hell of a great knife for the money. I thought the knife was butt ugly until I actually held one in my hand and was instantly sold on the ergos and and incredible grip. The choils make me feel extra safe too. The ball bearing lock operates similarly to an axis lock, although it is substantially stiffer until broken in, and even then good luck opening it without pinching both sides of the lock. This is how ive always used the axis lock anyways so it was no big deal for me.

I now own the regular Manix 2 (all black), translucent blue lightweight and my favorite novelty of a knife; the EDCF moonglow. Fun times :)

As said above..maybe give Spyderco a try.The Manix 2 is nice and has a similar locking system. If not and you want another BM, snag a 14205 before they are all gone... one of my favorites.. have a green PS on the way to keep my black PE company.
