Here's a question for Debbie, I hope.
I would like to find out the dates that Schrade started their new packaging. The earliest was the brown/wood grain, then tan/black (gray/black for the UH's), then blue/black stripes, finally gray/blue/tan. Also the beginning of the clam packaging which was blue/black stripes, then blue/gray/tan.
I think these are in order.

I'm still a rookie. This is the first time I've heard about tubes.

I could be wrong about the tubes. I am not an egg spurt either. I do remember the bulk pack boxes of slipjoints though. Seems like a dozen or so to the box.

Codger, my man.....
An egg spurt such as yourself should've remembered those WERE eggs packaged by the dozen.....As for Schrades, who knows what they did?

:D :D

Just kidding, of course.

Bill, over easy

El Lobo, how did you know that I have as many chickens as Schrades here on my Tennessee farm? I still haven't found clear tubes to put the eggs in though. Messes them up fierce in the mail

Working on being a Schrade "blankspert"

Packaging is certainly a diverse and interesting topic here on the Schrade Forum..... ;)

I think that "Picker" looks like a space-age anteater.... :D

Now, back to boxes and blister packs.

I seem to recall some 'tube' packaging. Perhaps LT will notice this thread and educate us. I wonder if he got those knives out of his bathtub yet?

Phil

6 to a box with a guarantee and a drawing to demonstrate how to sharpen the knife into the late 60 tys. Here are the dozen you requested, Original knives correct to the box. I just ran into the original factory ad for these a few days ago who knows where it is now I certainly would need daylight to find it. Hey Lobo what is the deal on Oatman I looked it up maybe I could become the sheriff. LT

This information is provided with intent to keep our LT posting pictures and answering questions...... :)

Here are two websites for you LT....

http://www.desertusa.com/riverinfo/c_river.html

http://totalescape.com/destin/all_towns/oatmanAZ.html

The first about The River in general...the second about Oatman...

I'm sure you would cut quite a figure sauntering ( yeah, that's it....sauntering ) down the streets of Oatman with your Poker hat ( with custom band by Luis.... :D )....your cool derringer...a big boy's pistol ( legal here, of course )...a Pistolero's sash of George's finest inventions (for sale....or use )....while holding court for the locals or touristas, about "Truth, Justice, and the American way."

The Duke would of course, be envious.

Now, about those tubes.......

Bill

I was in Oatman a couple of years ago in August. 106 and they said it was a cool day. The old Rt66 into Oatman from Kingman goes around the sides of some pretty impresive hills. Scenery is desert. The local Sheriff was carring a sidearm right out of the movies. She assured me it worked real well. Then I looked around and found 5 more people in town carring sidearms. So I asked and was told they had no trouble in their little town except for a few Mules kicking the snot out of a couple of tourists that got in the way of their carrots.
Rural..Rural.

EL Lobo: your link needed an extra "L" at the the end.

I thought so. That link took me to "Sorry Dude".

Those folks in Oatman sound like my kind of people. When a man tells you here that he is going to shoot your dog, the proper response is "Fine sir, you do just that. Then if nothing really bad happens to you, you'll know you did the right thing." I can carry my holstered Ruger .357 on one hip and my sheathed Schrade 165OT (content) on the other in public here and no one bats an eye. Now, I wouldn't recommend that in the courthouse, or the school, but it is a common sight to see a Winchester in the rear window of a pickup. Good folks in some rural places.

Codger

Thanks guys, for checking up on me..... :o

I probably dropped the "L " when I was cutting and pasting the links. Next time I'll go s.l.o.w.e.r. and use better glue.

Hey Larry, I bet that story about a mule you sent me was about one of those mules from Oatman.....you're right....tough dudes ( As in "Sorry Dude" :o ).

No problem with the Ruger here either Codger.....They used to make them around Prescott, until old man Ruger passed away. I also have one...Great guns.

EDITED....I guess they haven't shut down the Ruger foundry in Prescott. They are still making guns there. Bill Ruger would be happy, I'll wager.
