Time to buy some knives I guess

I did not want to buy a lot of knives at one time, until I read that Camillus is out of business. But the longer I wait, the less that will be available later, at least the good ones, if they do go under.
So I am going to do the credit card thing and purchase about $500 worth.
The ones I am looking at will equal about 15 to 20 knives. They may not be the best to collect, but they are the ones I like, so I hope I am making the right choices.
This will be a variety of Camillus, Becker and Western.

If you read that they are out of buisiness, you read wrong information. They are still operating at reduced capacity, though at what capacity is anyone's guess.

The best time to buy them will be another story yet to be written. As an example, the MSRP on a Schrade XT1B X-Timer Camp Knife was $75.95 before the July 2004 closing. I bought one a bit after for less than thirty, below listed dealer cost. They rose briefly in 2005/2006 to nearly $60, and I recently bought a blade blank for less than $20, and another NIB knife for less than thirty. So what I am saying is that it is a gamble to wait. It may cost you more or less. It depends on what the majority of collectors and investors think of those patterns you choose as to the prices they command when.

Gotta say that I'm holding out for closeout specials if Camillus goes out of business.

But the longer the strike with reduced production continues
the lesser will be the chance for closeout specials, especially
of the knives that are in high demand.
