In many knife collector's lives, there comes a time or rethinking and regrouping. You see posts quite often by people who have decided to simplify, to pare down their knife holdings to a few good users and to let go of the large accumulatons. Maybe they are older, maybe they find different interests, maybe they just want to return to more uncomplicated days. For whatever the reason, mere accumulation is no longer satisfying.
So I have asked myself, what should I do, at age 62, with my knives? Obviously I am never going to have time to use all of them, nor would I really want to. Also, is it fair to my heirs if I should kick off with a substantial investment tied up in knives that they would not have the know-how to dispose of?
So, after seriously pondering whether I should institute a major change of direction, cut way down on new knives, divest the majority of my collection, and enjoy a few users, I have come to the conclusion,
NAH! Not yet!
