"I could afford one, if I did just a little less drinking..."

Extra credit to anyone who can tell me where the quotes come from, with apologies to the original author...

Today was the inaugeral pot of coffee from my new Bunn coffee maker. It was very difficult for me to drop a C-note on a fricken' coffee maker, but after the first sip this morning... I was happy I did. The thing basically keeps a reservoir of heated water ready to rock. It makes a full pot of coffee in about 3 minutes. So... I got to freshly grind my beans, and crank out a pot first thing this morning, and I am in coffee heaven! Mr. Coffee?..... never again! I love my Bunn!

For a bit more I would have a Keurig that does those Kcups deals. Sure was fast and convenient at the party I was at. But stocking coffee would be a PITA will a few hundred little cups around, plus expensive. I just have a old Mr coffee deal and I would wager 12 of the large Folgers containers at any given time, just incase something bad happens, you always hear "well I wish we had coffee (or alcohol)" so I just stock a bit of each.

So with your new maker keeping water hot all the time, how much energy does it use?

Don't feel bad about spending $100 on a coffee pot. I recently bought a Technivorm coffee maker. Now that's expensive. Good coffee though.

I don't think that it's a waste of money to spend for a coffee maker that makes coffee that you like.

The quality will be remembered long after price is forgotten.

I owned the Bunn. Now I own the Technivorm (my daughter inherited the Bunn). Both are great coffee makers. If you like coffee, you won't be sorry. As Gollnick said, "Buy quality and you'll only cry once." I didn't cry at all. My wife did a little; but she got over it once she tasted the coffee.
