I'm going to re-handle one of my 317s. Should I go traditional (a wood) or something exotic? Having trouble visualizing the right scales. I love the 317 and this will be my first re-handle job :D I want no pin. Ideas, suggestions, tips !!
Thanks for any input.

I love to rescale with Amboyna Burl :)
Other Burls are awesome too.
Gaboon Ebony I have used also, and it polishes up really nice.
Someday I will get some stag to play with, and then would likely be a stag rescale enthusiast.
At the top of my wish list is some paua shell. I really really want to rescale something with that!!

This may come as a surprise to most, but I like Sambar stag. :)

I have a 317 that I have been thinking about too.

I have a stag and a red/yellow wood laminate by ANZA knives. I have seen some nice jigged bone knives of the similar shape and size as a 317. I think that would certainly be a classic look.

Well, gentleman I decided to go with the stag on this 317. Being my first re-handle I chicken out using the 317 as the Guinea pig. Had Leroy do the job and I couldn't be happier. It is elk stag. I have another 317 I am going to send to Leroy, I still thinking as to the handle material, something a little more exotic. I'm leaning toward desert ironwood. Any opinions / suggestions.

That is the nicest Trailblazer I've seen!! Good choice. :)

I'm going to have do the same to my 317 in the future.
