Time to saddle up your milsurp warhorses of history!

I dunno about "survivalist" stuff. My K31 isn't going to keep me from catching avian flu. Been through three bad hurricanes, and never fired a round of ammo. :D

Actual survival is about common sense. When SHTF, you either have it with you- always- or you don't. Some not only don't have common sense, they don't even know what it is. Those are the ones that the stobor eat first.

Those fringe "survivalists" wierd me out. WWJS? :D Sorry, I don't need any radioactive iodine pills today. No gas mask either. I'll take my chances.

Now the fringe marksmanship organizations... well, anybody who encourages gun ownership, marksmanship and the responsbility that comes with it... is doing a good thing, generally speaking.

I just don't care for the political extremism on some of those sites. I wish extreme views of any kind would stay away from the shooting range. You see what religious extremism gets us... a return to 13th century barbarity. So much for the advancement of the human race.

Can you imagine being so intolerant you can't take a joke? Would you want to kill someone who drew a cartoon you didn't think was funny?

Can you actually believe that in today's world, there are millions who would do so?

Maybe the survivalists aren't that crazy. At least, by comparision.

they're doing it even as i type this, they've just burned the danish embassy in syria, and in mass demonstrations worldwide, even in the UK, have advocated butchering anyone who dared publish a cartoon of the prophet mohammad.

our governments bend over backwards trying to appease minorities, while all they want is to kill and maim us for 'insulting' them. the barbarians are at the gates of rome, and our politicians who have never studied history will be forced to relive it.

oops!

Sorry guys, just trying to advocate some good old 2nd ammendment marksmanship!

:o

Oops, my bad. Sorry, Tom, no thread veer intended, though it IS a great HI tradition...

Just saying, some of these survival/don't-trust-the-government sites encourage marksmanship while throwing in an agenda....

I like CMP. Their agenda is, become a better shot with a .30.

I'm all for that.

For once I'm sad I don't live in/near NC. I spent a week down there one summer and I thought I was gonna lose it, the humidity was so bad. But I'd visit for this!
Politics aside, I think this is a fantastic idea and if it were happening anywhere near me I'd be there in a heartbeat.

The CMP thing is part of what I'm after. the Rev war assoc. is an affilited CMP association, so a membership with them and participating in this shoot will get me covered for the CMP requirements for purchase. Hope to get a 1903, when funds permit. I'm tinking they can't be too looney if the CMP recognizes them!

Veer away! I was just worried about causing unnecessary offence.

Tom

Sorry I was reading news and cantina at the same time...

a C&R will get you past the CMP requirements too.

Garand= $600.

K31=$140 in streaked walnut.

By the time I have the bucks, they won't have any. :(
