I have been looking around for a wile thought let myself be known. My name is Chris, I like knives, I work in a factory, I like knives, I have a wife 2 kids & a dog. A German shepherd, I like knives. Carbon over stainless thin over thick. I like knives, In carbon D2 ,stainless VG10. That's about ti for now. Did I mention I like knives?

Sorry to pick nits, but D2 is actually a tool steel and it is damn near being classified as a stainless steel.

I guess some people consider tool steels to be carbon steels, but I had learned that carbon and tool were two different classifications.

OK D2 is a tool steel. That will be my favorite tool steel. I will go with 1095 for carbon.
 
Welcome Chris!! It is funny that you mention that you like knives!! I do too!! In fact all of us here like knives!! I hope you enjoy your time here with us!
