customer service story... ;)

Several months ago I purchased this LDC Small Sebenza from another forumite who had been storing it in his safe since they day he got it.

The knife arrived to me in perfect condition with the exception of one thing, the lock engaged at the 80-90% of the tang and it was very difficult to unlock.

I contacted CRK and they instructed me to send the knife in to have a look. When they recieved the knife they said that the knife needed have a new blade made for it. They did not have any swedged small standard blades ready to go so one had to be made. While they were at it they replaced the lock bearing with a new ceramic one as well and gave it a complete refurbishing.

I got the knife back and did not have a chance to look at it for a couple of weeks, I had just gotten a new small Classic and was busy breaking it in.

One day I got out the LDC and was cleaning it up getting ready to put her through the paces when I noticed that the grind lines of the swedge and the main grind were off from one side to the other by about 1/4".

Normally I would not be concerned but on this knife it was different. Although I carry this piece a lot, it is still a limited edition and relatively rare. I really wanted it to be CRK perfect.

So I e-mailed Bridget and she promptly told me to send it back in so Chris could have a look at it. Within a few days she e-mailed me and said it would be getting the blade replaced and to expect to hear back from her in a week.

Well, within a week I heard back from her and the knife was en-route. I got it today and have to say the blade is spectacular!

The scan does not show the full beauty of this blade.

The swedge is a little more agressively cut than any other I've seen and the grind lines are perfect. The point where the swedge cut ends is only about 1/4" from the thumb studs.

If you are ordering a new Sebenza any time soon and want a little more agressive look for it, I would spend the extra couple of dollars and get the swedge:)

Thank you Bridget and CRK for the great customer service and for putting up with my picky ways :D

Chad,
Could you try posting a little bigger pic, so we can get a good idea what it really looks like?
:p

Seriously, I really like the looks of that swedge on the LDC. If I ever send my small in to be refurbished, I think it'll get a swedge, too.

............ AND ???????????????????? he-he.. shame on me :p 9/12

Did you get that Big O. 9/12 ;)

Are we ever going to get together and have our knife 'deal'. I finally got some neat stuff to be looked at............ :)

Have a good one Owen and a good Holiday Season............. Chuck
