time to test swamprats customer service

today i took out my mint condition swamprat knives M6 . i chopped into a dead very hard tree branch using the very tip of the knife , and the usual chopping area of the blade . i then threw it at the rest of the tree, on the first throw about an inch of the tip broke off. anyway what i want to know is how do i send it back to swamprat and what can they do with it? i can`t take pics as i don`t own a camera and have no access to one. if you guys give me an address to send it back i will.

No way. That sucks. You must have gotten it just right. I've thrown my M6 a few hundred times and never even rolled the tip enough to speak of.

PM Eric Isaacson. He'll be all over this in a heartbeat; I'm sure with no questions asked. Their motto for customer service is: "We'll take care of it; we'll make it right". They're the best. Most likely you'll get sent a brand new one.
 
That is truly bizarre. Must be a defective blade. I have thrown my Swamp Rats thousands of times with no blade damage.

They will take care of you for sure.
 
This is truly bizarre and I'm sorry for any problems. Throwing a knife can put some strange torque's on it though, depending on how it hits, what it hits, and the angle it hits. That is one reason that dedicated throwing knives are generally designed with very thick tips.

Send it in and we'll gladly take care of it for you.

for every knife I broke/bent when throwing when I was growing up. Of course most of them came from the flea market, so what do you expect:D

I haven't thrown any of my rats, yet. I my try it soon, but I'm not as quick as I used to be, and I learned with my Busse BAIII, that even micarta handled knives will bounce.

If I had $1,000,000 for every Busse or Swamp Rat knife I broke, I'd still starve :( . ;) :thumbup:
 
In short, never throw a knife unless it is made for that purpose unless you are able to live with damaged cutlery.
 
i wanted to see how much hard use it could take :) all of my busses and rats are now users (i didn`t buy them just to look at) as for throwing well i`ve seen pics of them being thrown before
 
Guys,
There is no need for any personal attacks. I have stated that we would take care of the M6. No further discussion needs to take place in regards to this.

Thanks to Cobalt and Tyrkon, I 'might' have thrown my M-6 maybe...oh, say...200 times. Not a single problem, save for some smudging on the micarta (I'm just not as gifted as C and T).
