With the unsuccessfull (so far) job search, and my wife being out of town for a couple of days, tomorrow (weather permitting) I`m going on a road trip to unwind. Going to head west on I-80 to Princeton, then come back on Rte 6 through all the small towns. Going to take the Mustang, no better way to unwind than with 300 horses under my foot. ;)

2006 GT. This pic was taken last fall.

Hi Stomper -

Cool GT!

One of my good buddies at work has a 2007 GT - he let me drive it - it has the manual trans. I like it -

I took him to Cordova to a private track day and he was hooked on drag racing - he put 4.10's, a cold air intake and a tune on it and it was running 13.2's before he recently installed a supercharger setup .

It is now making 479 ponies at the rear wheels!

Enjoy your road trip!

best regards -

Have fun on your road trip. Hope you come across some cool used book stores or flea markets on the way.

Ah, performance cars. I had a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP with the Northstar V8.
I routinely ran it to 140 on my drive home in the morning. Damn thing would do 135 in 3rd and never did find out was the top end was.
Since my license is my livelihood, I got rid of it and now drive a 3/4 ton Ford van.
At least my CDL is safe.

Have fun on your bachelor road trip.

Are you going back into the tool & die industry? It isn't sticking really today but it might tomorrow more..

It seems we have more in common than knives. Here is a pic of our 06 GT. I just sold it in May to buy a truck.

All real men drive Mustangs!
(well, except in the snow, that's why God created the jeep)

Have fun on your trip!

Hell yeah man! I have been on the interview trail for medicine residency, and in addition to the usual resume and whatnot, I had to write a 'personal statement.' What this is supposed to consist of is anyone's guess. As far as I can tell, you can write about anything. I wrote mine about the Mustangs that my dad and I have and work on. I have to say, I think I have gotten more mileage by FAR out of that than anything else in my application. Every single program I've gone to has had at least one interviewer who has owned a Mustang, and we spend more time talking about that than anything related to medicine. :D

Here's one of mine:

Anyway, have a safe drive and enjoy yourself, John. Mustangs rock!

Sold it? SOLD IT?
I might just cry......

The idea is to have the mustang, and a truck, then another mustang and another SUV, and keep going....

I bought my son a used 1996 Mustang about 10 years ago when he was a senior in high school. His great aunt from Chicago gave him some spending money so he took it to Strictly Performance here in Houston, had the car lowered, put on a body kit, dropped in a Cobra supercharged engine, six speed transmission and I think had a nitro bottle kit in the trunk. I thought it drove like a truck but apparently it had great straight line speed. He later told me he was stopped on the tollway early one morning doing over 140 mph. The young cop was so impressed with the car he let him off with a warning.

bummer John.. sorry to hear about the snow...:thumbdn: looks like you're stuck with us..:D

Due to the snow here I`m not doing any road trips today.

Snow blows. My wife was unable to make it from our house to the highway today, so she is still home.

I have to go in now. Stupid store never closes.
Tomorrow, my bos'll be bitching that we didn't make any money, and somehow the snow will have been my fault.
