Good time this afternoon with my better half teaching her some firemaking skills. Got her used to making feathersticks, and then the tedious process of building a fire in the wind. Finally got it going, but the wind here was nuts, so it took quite awhile. She used her BK14 and me my BK24. Made fire in the ikea hobo stove, with a small 32oz billy can to heat the water in. (Goof off does a great job of removing soot from the pot when you are done.)

I will let the pics do the talking.

Nothing like making a fire. Love it. Did you use a lighter, ferro rod, what?

Just a lighter, there was so much wind it would have been really difficult to do with a ferro rod, plus it was just some learning for Katie on how to build a fire. It was a good afternoon.
