i'm thinking about buying some timing pulleys and belts for my bandsaw, to get the most possible torque and not have the noise of chains and sprockets. do any of you guys use these? are they worth the extra money?

I never have. You talking about a steel cutter, or a regular bandsaw?? Neither of mine has anything but regular pulleys and belts.

both steel and wood, i have a 1 hp motor, and it slows easily becuase of the pulleys. i checkd when i slow the blade, the pulley belt is slipping.

Magnum, isn't there a tension adjuster for that belt? I had trouble with mine slipping too, I solved it with automotive cant slip belt spray. By the way those belts do wear out.

yeah, they probably wear faster, i'll just keep a couple on hand. i had planned on buying one of them tension things, but never did.
